Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy explains what information QuizFaceoff ("we", "us") collects when you use quizfaceoff.com, why we collect it and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the game needs.

Information we collect

When you play as a guest

You can play without signing up. We create a guest player with a random name (for example "Player123456") so we can save your matches, XP and Daily Quiz streak. A guest player is not linked to your real identity. It is kept on your device by a sign-in cookie.

When you create an account

We collect a username, an email address and a password. Passwords are never stored in readable form; we store only a salted cryptographic hash. Your username, avatar, XP, levels and match results can be shown publicly on leaderboards and your profile page. Your email address is never shown publicly.

Game data

We store your matches (topic, scores, opponent, date), Daily Quiz results, XP, levels, streaks and the days you were active, so that the game, rankings and leaderboards work.

Messages you send us

If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address and message so we can reply.

Usage and technical data

To understand how the site is used, we record page views with the page address, the referring website (domain only) and the country. To count unique visitors without tracking you, we combine your IP address and browser user agent with the current date and store only a one-way hash of that value, which changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page loads and performance without cookies and without collecting personal data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie, qa_session, which keeps you signed in (as a guest or with an account) for up to 30 days. The site does not work without it. We do not use cookies for our own analytics. If we show advertising, our advertising partners may set their own cookies as described below.

Advertising

We may show ads to keep QuizFaceoff free. Ads may be provided by Google and other third-party vendors.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a certified consent tool before any personalised advertising cookies are used, and can change their choice at any time.

How we use information

  • To run the game: matchmaking, scoring, XP, levels, leagues, leaderboards, streaks and challenge links.
  • To keep the game fair and secure, and to prevent cheating, spam and abuse.
  • To understand which pages and quizzes people use, so we can improve them.
  • To reply to your messages and handle account or privacy requests.
  • To show advertising, as described above.

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the site, such as Cloudflare (hosting, database and analytics) and, if ads are shown, advertising partners such as Google. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users and the service.

How long we keep data

Account and game data is kept while your account exists. Guest players that have not been used for 12 months may be deleted. Page view records are kept for up to 24 months. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict some processing. To make a request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy or data request". We will respond within 30 days.

Children

QuizFaceoff is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Guest play does not require any personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

QuizFaceoff is run from India and uses Cloudflare's global network, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We use providers with appropriate safeguards.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will show a notice on the site.
